Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 48.57% in December 2021, a 13.33% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.29% in December 2021, marking a 6.25% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 18.57% in December 2021, an 18.18% rise from November 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 4.55% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s packaging industry during December 2021 over previous month.
Alpargatas posted 13 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 160% over the previous month, followed by The Procter & Gamble with 11 jobs and a 120% growth. BRF with 11 IT jobs and GraceKennedy with 7 jobs, recorded a 47.62% drop and a 133.33% rise, respectively, while Kimberly-Clark recorded a 60% decline with 4 job postings during December 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s packaging industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 54.29% share in December 2021, a 20.83% decrease over November 2021. Costa Rica featured next with a 12.86% share, up 50% over the previous month. Jamaica recorded a 10% share, a growth of 133.33% compared with November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, down by 2% from November 2021. Entry Level positions with a 20% share, registered a growth of 16.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10% share, flat growth over November 2021.
