Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 31.76% in June 2022, an 18.18% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 25.88% in June 2022, marking a 47.62% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 21.18% in June 2022, a 30.77% drop from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 17.31% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s packaging industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Amcor posted 12 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by GraceKennedy with 9 jobs and an 18.18% drop. Anheuser-Busch InBev with 8 IT jobs and BRF with 7 jobs, recorded a 55.56% drop and a 30% drop, respectively, while The Procter & Gamble recorded a 22.22% decline with 7 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s packaging industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 38.82% share in June 2022, a 29.79% decrease over May 2022. Peru featured next with a 14.12% share, up 50% over the previous month. Jamaica recorded a 10.59% share, a drop of 18.18% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.53%, down by 25.26% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with an 8.24% share, registered a decline of 46.15% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.24% share, down 50% over May 2022.
