The UK’s packaging industry registered a 19.9% rise in IT hiring activity in January 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.82% in January 2022 when compared with December 2022.
Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.76% share in January 2022, recording an increase of 0.59% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s packaging industry’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.39% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s packaging industry in January 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 44.17% in January 2022, registering a 100% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 22.7% share, an increase of 15.63% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 15.95%, registering a 44.44% rise from December 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 10.43%, up 183.33% over the previous month.
Top five packaging companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 94% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s packaging industry during January 2022 over December 2022.
Fujitsu General posted 44 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered a rise of 41.94% over the previous month, followed by Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 23 jobs and a 43.75% growth. NaturaHolding SA with 13 IT jobs and Red Bull with 9 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 350% growth, respectively, while British American Tobacco recorded an increase of 700% with 8 job postings during January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.55%, up by 71.64% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.02% share, registered an increase of 106.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.43% share, up 13.33% over December 2022.
