The US’s packaging industry registered a 15.2% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.17% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.88% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.31% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s packaging industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.18% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s packaging industry in March 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.45% in March 2022, registering a 32.95% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.19% share, an increase of 21.38% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.67%, registering a 67.02% rise from February 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.71%, up 19.21% over the previous month.

Top five packaging companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 81.84% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s packaging industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Nestle posted 315 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 270.59% over the previous month, followed by The J. R. Simplot with 232 jobs and a 6.91% growth. Rich Products with 184 IT jobs and Ball with 100 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 4.76% decrease, respectively, while Ball recorded a decline of 4.76% with 100 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.21%, up by 42.75% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.36% share, registered an increase of 20.3% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.88% share, up 20.33% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.55%, recording a month-on-month decline of 14.29%.
