This collaboration combines Pulpex’s fibre container systems with Alternicq’s manufacturing plants, client base, and technical resources.

The agreement aligns with Alternicq’s planned transition from a “scale-led packaging supplier to a global one-stop solutions partner” managing design, manufacturing, and distribution across different formats, materials, and regions.

The adoption of fibre technology expands the company’s sustainable packaging catalogue for commercial clients.

Alternicq managing director and CEO Thimmaiah said: “We are building a one-stop packaging solutions business of global scale, investing in how we go to market, strengthening our capabilities from design to delivery, and partnering with the world’s leading technology innovators to bring the best solutions to our customers.

“By integrating innovative, sustainable materials and advanced packaging technologies into our rigid plastic packaging portfolio, we are expanding our capabilities to meet evolving customer needs across FMCG segments.

The resulting containers meet food-grade criteria and are manufactured using sustainably managed wood pulp.

The units are structured for disposal through standard domestic paper and cardboard recycling streams, as the internal spray-applied barrier does not require separation before reprocessing.

Furthermore, the containers can be processed on conventional filling lines and accommodate direct exterior printing across fast-moving consumer goods segments.

Pulpex CEO Sandy Westwater said: “Alternicq is exactly the manufacturing partner this technology needs. This announcement brings together a UK technology platform that has moved from innovation to industrial reality and India’s leading packaging manufacturer, with the capability, customers and ambition to deliver renewable packaging at scale.”
