Switzerland-based flexible packaging manufacturer Aluflexpack has received dual certification from the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) for its site in Drniš, Croatia.
The Performance and Chain of Custody Standard certifications were granted for the packaging production site following independent, third-party audits.
The plant specialises in converting aluminium into flexible packaging via printing, embossing, extrusion and other means.
Launched in 2017, the ASI certification programme covers all the stages of the aluminium value chain.
It sets out 59 criteria across the environmental, social and governance (ESG) categories, covering issues such as biodiversity and greenhouse gas emissions.
Aluflexpack chief financial officer Johannes Steurer said: “As one of the leading international manufacturers of premium flexible packaging, we are proud to have reached production standards that meet ASI Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Certification.
