Amcor Rigid Plastics is set to expand its site in Bellevue, Ohio, US, in order to meet the growing demand for its packaging in the food, healthcare, beverage, and home and personal care sectors.
As part of the expansion, $40m will be invested in doubling the facility’s existing manufacturing and warehouse space.

To be carried out with an economic development grant from JobsOhio, the proposed expansion will add 126,000ft² of new manufacturing space and 85,000ft² of warehouse space.
With 148 employees, Amcor’s Bellevue facility is currently involved in the production of preforms and blow-moulded, rigid plastic containers.
Amcor diversified products business unit vice-president and general manager Ann O’Hara said: “During this strong period of growth for our business, we’re fortunate to be able to make this substantial investment at our Bellevue site.

In July, Amcor’s flexible division expanded its capabilities at its site in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US.
Under the expansion, the company installed a new press system that can perform flexographic printing, gravure coating and slitting procedures in a single pass.
