US-based food packaging manufacturer Anchor Packaging has introduced new 7.25in polypropylene (PP) bowls to its Incredi-Bowls line of microwavable bowls and lids.
Designed for a large individual serving or a family-size portion, the new round bowls have been produced using a natural mineral additive that allowed Anchor to reduce the use of petroleum-based resin by 40%.
The bowl is fitted with a vented lid, which includes integral Clear Guard anti-fog technology to prevent condensation or 'fogging' of the lid.
Available in 20oz, 24oz, 32oz and 40oz variants, the bowls’ leak-resistant closure eliminate messy spills and reduce inventory storage costs.
The Incredi-Bowls and lids are capable of withstanding temperatures to up to 230°F in warming units, under heat lamps, or in the microwave.
The reusable, recyclable bowls can also be used in refrigerated or ambient displays.
According to Anchor, the bowls allow retailers to increase their hot-case merchandising opportunities, and reduce takeaway order errors for foodservice operators.
Last week, Anchor Packaging earned the High Hygiene certification from NSF International for the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Packaging, following extensive audits of the company’s rigid container facilities in Paragould and Jonesboro, Arkansas, US.
The company’s products include stock and custom rigid packaging, as well as cling film wraps.
