Brewing company Anheuser-Busch is investing $15.5m to upgrade bottling lines from packed to bulk glass at its Fort Collins brewery in Colorado, US.  

This strategic move is expected to streamline production, strengthen the supply chain, and reduce emissions while driving efficiencies within the business.  

The upgraded bottling lines at the Fort Collins brewery are set to be fully operational by mid-2024. 

Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth said: “Investing in the communities where our people live and work is part of who we are.  

“This investment in our Fort Collins brewery not only drives efficiencies for our business and improves the capabilities of our facility, but it also puts Anheuser-Busch in a unique position to build on our industry-leading support for our employees with on-the-job education and growth opportunities for our frontline workers.” 

Over the past five years, Anheuser-Busch has invested nearly $2bn in its facilities across the US, improving the economy in the communities where it operates.

These investments are crucial for ensuring the long-term growth and viability of its facilities, with expenditures enhancing unique capabilities, improving efficiencies and outputs, and funding additional infrastructure projects. 

In the US, Anheuser-Busch operates more than 120 facilities, including flagship and regional craft breweries, as well as agricultural facilities across 24 states.  

In Colorado alone, the company employs more than 1,000 people, with an additional 600 working within the brewer’s independent distributor network.  

The company’s activities in Colorado have led to more than $1.4bn in capital investments, contributing to the state’s economic growth. 

The Fort Collins brewery is also one of the company’s two facilities that can provide clean, safe drinking water as part of Anheuser-Busch’s Emergency Drinking Water programme. 

Fort Collins mayor Jeni Ardnt said: “In a state that values innovation and sustainability, we’re excited to see Anheuser-Busch improving its capabilities in a way that reinforces their commitment to leaving a positive impact on the community and operating sustainably.” 

Last month, Anheuser-Busch announced the national rollout of its US Farmed certification and packaging seal for several of its beer brands, showing support for domestic farmers.
