All Printing Resources (APR) has installed a Bobst M5 digital flexo press at its technical centre in Glendale Heights, Illinois.

Equipped with drop-in Bobst Ready technology, the eight-colour press offers interchangeable screens and flexo and hot foil decoration.

The new system enables fast changeovers and print and die-cutting pressure control, reported packageprinting.com.

All Printing Resources president and CEO Dave Nieman was quoted by the website as saying: “Process control is a significant issue for narrow web converters. Our research shows that presses are down more than 30% of the time and that on average flexo presses have six to seven changeovers per shift.

"This is the only demo press Bobst has in North America and is a real asset to the work we do with our narrow web clients on an ongoing basis."

“This makes the ability to optimise job-to-job repeatability and colour matching essential. With the installation of the Bobst M5 press at our technical centre, we can help teach our customers the process controls they need to have in place including colour management and extended gamut printing.
