Aptar Closures has introduced a new line of fully recyclable flow control dispensing solutions, SimpliCycle.

The new solution can be used for a wide range of products, primarily food and beverage applications such as condiments and sauces.

Aptar Closures said that its new solution has been designed to meet the needs of brand owners who prioritise environmental responsibility and regulatory standards.

The SimpliCycle flow control valve offers precise and hygienic dispensing while its design facilitates mechanical recycling, enhancing the sustainability profile of the solution without compromising performance.

Made using low-density thermoplastic elastomer, SimpliCycle valves are engineered to separate easily from the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) stream during the recycling process.

These valves float to the top, allowing for their subsequent recycling within the polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) streams.

When integrated with a compatible Aptar closure, SimpliCycle forms a completely recyclable solution compatible with PET, PE, or PP containers.

The new line of valves is available in various sizes and configurations, suitable for both rigid and flexible containers and can handle a broad spectrum of product viscosities.

Furthermore, the design prevents drips, leaks, or spills, and its compatibility with inverted storage means consumers can utilise the entire contents of each package.

Aptar Closures Global Marketing Development president Raphael Grange said: “As the emphasis on sustainability increases across the globe, many brands have faced the challenge of providing more recyclable packaging solutions without compromising performance, convenience and product safety.

“At Aptar Closures, we leverage multiple decades of consumer and market expertise to continuously help brands innovate, meet new market demands, and achieve bold environmental goals by becoming even more sustainable – all with packaging solutions that do not sacrifice the consumer experience.”
