AptarGroup to increase capabilities through acquisition of Reboul

Packaging and dispensing solutions provider AptarGroup is to acquire Reboul, a French manufacturer of packaging solutions for the luxury industry, in order to increase its capabilities and to offer improved services to the colour cosmetics market.

Reboul, which is owned by Vacheron Industries, designs and produces metal components, metal-plastic sub-assemblies, next generation lipstick mechanisms and colour cosmetic packaging solutions.

The €14m deal will give Aptar access to complementary capabilities such as deep metal drawing, high-speed metal stamping, as well as differentiated lipstick mechanism design and manufacturing.

The acquisition will reportedly offer the opportunity for growth in the colour cosmetics market and will bolster Aptar’s ability to meet customer demand in the skincare and fragrance markets.

Under the terms of the agreement, there is an earn-out provision based on the 2018 financial results that could raise the enterprise value to a maximum of €23m.

Headquartered in the US, Aptar supplies dispensing solutions for the beauty, personal care, home care, prescription drug, consumer healthcare, injectables, food and beverage markets.
