A&R Carton, a unit of AR Packaging, has entered a strategic partnership agreement with Packages to jointly manufacture, procure, sell and distribute cardboard packaging in Pakistan and neighbouring countries.
The partnership will also deal with packaging made out of cardboard or other materials in combination with cardboard.
Packages CEO Syed Hyder Ali said: “I am very pleased to announce this partnership agreement with AR Packaging who helped in setting up of Packages in 1957.
“The partnership with AR Packaging will further strengthen our domestic market position and give us entry to the international markets.
“We will be able to leverage AR Packaging’s technology and know-how. This partnership will allow us to better serve our customers.”
The company has also noted that the new agreement does not include the formation of joint venture or equity participation.
AR Packaging president and CEO Harald Schulz said: “In line with our strategy to expand our footprint outside of Europe, our partnership with Packages will further strengthen our platform and benefit our global customer base.”
In January, the company completed the acquisition of a majority stake in an Indonesia-based packaging company, Maju Jaya SaranaGrafika, fulfilling its aim of expanding business outside Europe.
With two sites in Indonesia, Maju Jaya designs and produces paper packaging solutions.
