Scandinavia-based Flextrus Group has signed a deal to buy majority stakes in Swedish digital print and media company Mediaköket Grafiska.

With the acquisition, Flextrus aims to promote new technological and innovative developments in the field of packaging.

The company aims to offer digital printing, in addition to advanced flexo printing and barrier packaging solutions.

"We are excited to welcome Mediaköket to Flextrus and to AR Packaging."

Mediaköket provides services including print management, graphical production and tailored web solutions.

Flextrus Group managing director Maud Rahm said: “We are excited to welcome Mediaköket to Flextrus and to AR Packaging. They bring a substantial expertise in a field that we are convinced will add another dimension to us and AR Packaging.

“We truly believe that success is not only about buying digital print capacity but much more linked to having a deep understanding and know-how of how to use the digital technology and transfer it into benefits for our customers.

“Mediaköket brings this competence and can provide full service in this field.”

In June, Flextrus entered a partnership agreement with Mediaköket with an aim to stay up-to-date with new developments in technology and innovative packaging solutions.

Flextrus is a subsidiary of AR Packaging, which recently signed a binding agreement to buy majority stake in Indonesian packaging firm Maju Jaya Sarana Grafika (MJSG).
