US-based Automated Packaging Systems has introduced the new DATA Count U-162 Counter, which has been designed to perform high-speed counting and packaging of bulk small products.
The integrated counter and bag packaging solution by DATA Detection Technologies has been integrated into the Autobag 500 bagger to enhance productivity and accuracy.
The system uses a hopper, a vibratory feed track system and advanced mathematical algorithm to count 25,000 objects a minute.
The DATA Count U-162 is also capable of identifying variable shaped products ranging from 0.5mm to 25mm in size.
It can count multiple items simultaneously, without the need for product separation.
Automated Packaging Systems global marketing director Chris Rempe said: “The custom engineering team at Automated Packaging Systems worked closely with the R&D team and engineers at DATA Technologies to design a user-friendly bag packaging system with unmatched speed and accuracy.
“The new DATA Count U-162 and Autobag 500 combine to reduce labour costs and improve the productivity of any operation that needs to package large quantities of small products.”
All Autobag pre-opened bags-on-a-roll are available in various sizes and can be used to pack multiple items such as hardware and fasteners, hobby and craft items, electronics, automotive, agriculture and precious stones.
In a separate development, Automated Packaging Systems has collaborated with ABB to integrate the Autobag 500 bagging system with the latter’s YuMi robot.
The new robot can help to assemble and pack small parts on the Autobag 500.
It can also pick and place products into pre-opened bags, following which they will be sealed by the Autobag 500.
