Avery Dennison Performance Tapes North America has released the Sustainable ADvantage portfolio, a new line of pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes for manufacturers seeking to reduce the environmental effect of tapes used in components and finished goods.
The range was developed under the company’s wider work on regeneration and the circular economy.

It is intended to support material selection with a decreased environmental impact while maintaining bonding capability, service life and manufacturing efficiency.
The portfolio is set up to grow with further additions over time.
Its current products include options aimed at cutting material use through design efficiency, using responsibly sourced inputs such as Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper liners, and supporting better recyclability, reuse or compostability where relevant.
The line also includes products with higher levels of recycled and renewable content, alongside other approaches intended to improve environmental performance over the product life cycle.
The first release in the Sustainable ADvantage portfolio covers transfer tapes and double-coated constructions.
These products use three solvent-free acrylic adhesive technologies: emulsion acrylic, pure emulsion acrylic and UV acrylic adhesives.
The technologies have been developed for particular manufacturing and application needs, while producing lower volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions than similar products based on other adhesive systems.
The new portfolio is part of the company’s broader sustainability plans, where work on material selection, product construction and end-of-life considerations is linked to its target of making 100% of its products recyclable by 2030.
