aerosol can

US-based Ball Corporation is to increase its manufacturing capacity for impact-extruded aerosol cans by expanding its production unit in Velim, Czech Republic.

The expansion aims to meet growing demand from existing customers and European markets.

The facility will be equipped with a new can production line, which is expected to start operations in the final quarter of 2016.

Ball Corporation global metal food and household products packaging COO James N. Peterson said: "To remain a leader in the metal aerosol packaging industry, we must continue to maximise value in our existing businesses, leverage our expertise, and align with the right customers and markets.

"This investment in Velim, one of our most productive aluminium aerosol plants, will enable us to meet customer and market needs, as well as to continue our focus on developing industry-leading impact extruded innovations."

The firm manufactures innovative and sustainable packaging solutions for beverage, food and household products, and provides other technologies and services for the US federal government.
