Belgium-based AR Metallizing has developed the SilberBoard recyclable board for packaging solutions.

Belgium-based AR Metallizing has developed the SilberBoard recyclable board for packaging solutions.

Developed as an alternative to the traditional metallised polyethylene terephthalate (PET) board, SilberBoard offers a metallic finish and allows brand owners to reduce the volume of plastic film used in their packaging.

The new packaging board is available in five different variants, including SilberBoard UltraShine, WhiteBack, GreyBack, LightWeight and Carrier.

"SilberBoard offers a metallic finish and allows brand owners to reduce the volume of plastic film used in their packaging."

Suitable for cosmetics and food packaging, SilberBoard UltraShine provides a high-gloss solution for brand owners.

With a printable backside, SilberBoard WhiteBack can be used for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), as well as over-the-counter, personal care and food industry branding facilities.

SilberBoard GreyBack features an uncoated side and has specifically been designed for the FMCG sector, while SilberBoard LightWeight is a premium packaging solution used to manufacture lighweight folding boxes.

Finally, AR Metallizing’s new SilberBoard Carrier variant is suitable for premium food and beverage packaging applications.

Last month, the company secured ISO 9001 certification from International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for its manufacturing facility in Franklin, Massachusetts, US.

AR Metallizing said that its other facilities in South American and European are also certified by ISO.
