Berlin Packaging, a hybrid packaging supplier, has achieved an impressive feat of selling more than 12,000 tonnes (t) of recycled plastic and glass packaging in 2023.

The company reported the achievement in its 2023 Sustainability Report released yesterday (12 June).

Over the year, the company said it sold more than 1,700t of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and 10,700t of PCR glass.

Berlin Packaging also collaborated with Curie to develop custom deodorant packaging made entirely from PCR plastic, aligning with the brand’s objective to utilise 100% PCR materials.

Additionally, the company developed a ‘vortex’ bottle for Turtle Wax, incorporating 30% PCR plastic, which has saved more than 116,000lb of virgin resin each year.

In 2023, Berlin Packaging reduced its scope 1 emissions by 21% and scope 2 emissions by 6% globally, with 2022 as the baseline.
