Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer BillerudKorsnäs has announced it will participate in the Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier (APASS) network programme.
The APASS programme offers packaging advice to vendors and helps to meet the company’s packaging guidelines.
As a member of the APASS team, BillerudKorsnäs can ensure that its packaging solutions meet Amazon’s Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP) programme’s requirements.
The company will also have to produce solutions that are Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP), Ships-In-Own-Container (SIOC) and Prep-Free Packaging (PFP)-certified.
BillerudKorsnäs Portland packaging design & engineering team manager Tim Stone said: “We are delighted to join the APASS network and help companies that sell through Amazon such as apparel, footwear, sporting goods, appliance and electronics manufacturers optimise their e-commerce packaging for Amazon fulfilment.
“Our experienced teams are skilled at developing packaging solutions that help our clients protect their products, reduce waste and lower costs while improving the customer experience.”
Based in Solna, BillerudKorsnäs’ packaging solutions provide at least 15% ocean freight savings and reduced carbon footprint. The company has been designing, engineering and testing packaging solutions, including printed corrugated and folding carton packaging, corrugated shipping cartons, for the last 20 years.
BillerudKorsnäs supplies packaging material to over 2,800 original equipment manufacturer factories in Southeast Asia.
Earlier this month, BillerudKorsnäs and its partners launched a paper bottle company Paboco.
Berlin Packaging, DS Smith and Veritiv have also joined Amazon’s APASS packaging programme.
