British packaging specialist 4 Aces has unveiled a range of biodegradable paper straws as part of its commitment to offer their customers an alternative solution to the paper straws.
The new straws are available in two colours white and black. The 8mm bore white paper straws are suitable for smoothies and shakes, while the black 6mm straws are suitable for all other uses.
The company has manufactured the new biodegradable straws using high-grade material and maintained a stable structure to last longer.
4 Aces sales director David Blake said: “With smaller children and anyone likely to struggle, going without a straw isn’t always an option.
“This eco-friendly alternative to the plastic straw gives consumers the opportunity to make the right choice and it impacts positively on the sustainability agenda of the seller, whether that’s a pub, a café or any other retail outlet.
“We’re expecting to generate a healthy level of interest as we are enjoying high sales across all of our biodegradable products following the launch of our PLANET range earlier this year.”
In addition, the packaging company offers a range of 7oz, 8oz, 12oz and 16oz compostable PLA hot cups, as well as paper water cones and PLA cold cups.
The company claims that these products comply with the EU certification for compostable packaging and will disintegrate in the correct industrial facilities for disposal within 12 weeks.
Established in 2001, 4 Aces offers packaging products to beverage and foodservice sectors.
