Waste Management

Australian renewable packaging materials provider Cardia Bioplastics has secured an order for the delivery of waste management bins and its Biohybrid kitchen waste bags to households in Nanjing City, China.

The initial order is valued at A$250,000, while the annual supply requirement included in the contract stands at A$1m.

Cardia Biohybrid kitchen waste bags consume less oil and provide a lower carbon footprint compared to conventional plastics.

Cardia Bioplastics managing director Dr Frank Glatz said that the order builds on the existing A$1.2 million annual supply contract with Shanghai Pudong."

"Based on the trial programmes that are already in progress in other districts in China, we are confident in our corporate strategy of securing additional long-term contracts," Glatz added.

Cardia Bioplastics has also recently announced the awarding of a supply contract for plastic bags for the Brazilian Ricoy chain of supermarkets.
