Cirkla, Belmark, and Ossid have introduced a combined packaging system that integrates resealable lidding film with fibre-based trays for the food sector.
Aimed at categories including fresh produce and prepared meals, the format combines Cirkla’s fibre bases with Belmark’s closure film and automated tray-handling machinery from Ossid.

Cirkla said its solution decreases plastic usage by up to 90% while matching or surpassing plastic in durability, barrier protection, and product shelf life.
The manufacturer indicated that the units operate on standard industrial tray sealers in the US without requiring machinery modifications or capital investment.
Belmark supplies the lidding film, while sealing is handled via the ReeMaster NextGen Automatic Tray Sealer from Ossid, a ProMach business unit and the North American distributor for Reepack.
Intended for “medium to large-scale” production, the unit employs servo-indexed conveyors and lateral clamps to align trays during processing, added Cirkla.
The system features a washdown-ready, stainless-steel open frame built for tool-free cleaning and maintenance, alongside a 12-inch colour touchscreen with digital recipe storage to accelerate changeovers among top-seal, modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), and vacuum skin packaging (VSP) formats.
The trays have undergone trials on live packaging lines with major US retail chains and protein processors.
Cirkla plans to launch production at its first US manufacturing plant in Gainesville, Georgia, during the first quarter of 2027.
In August, the company revealed that the Georgia facility will develop products across its moulded fibre portfolio and is expected to employ more than 100 people at full output.
