Cirkla has revealed plans to open a manufacturing plant in Gainesville, Georgia, US, with production due to start in the first quarter of 2027.
The company described the site as America’s “first of its kind”, focused on expanding moulded fibre packaging for meat products across the country.

The facility will develop products across Cirkla’s moulded fibre portfolio, including modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) and overwrap trays.
According to the company, the move follows rising demand for Cirkla’s MAP fibre trays and wider uptake among protein processors and grocery retailers.
It added that the new plant is intended to serve large-scale processors looking for fibre packaging that can be integrated into existing operations and align with performance and sustainability requirements.
Georgia governor Brian P Kemp said: “Cirkla’s choice to build their packaging solutions facility in the heart of one of Georgia’s strongest export hubs is a testament to our state’s logistics capabilities and assets.
“Investments in infrastructure by the Georgia Ports Authority, including the brand-new Gainesville Inland Port, are helping deliver products to markets all over the world, and we look forward to Cirkla’s success as a result.”
The facility will include patent pending technology, automated production systems, in-house quality laboratories and additional finishing capacity.
At full output, the plant is expected to employ more than 100 people.
The company said the investment would add to the local manufacturing base, while also reducing lead times, strengthening supply chain resilience and increasing output for its moulded fibre range.
Regional project manager Brandon Lounsbury represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development on the project, working with the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce and Georgia Quick Start.
Cirkla CEO Vaibhav Goel said: “Our manufacturing in India runs at scale and has validated this technology in real production environments across some of the most demanding protein categories.
“As US demand has grown, so has the case for a domestic footprint—this facility brings that same capability closer to our customers, built for the national rollouts ahead.”
