Clariant introduces new tube and stopper package in Vietnam

Swiss speciality chemicals company Clariant has launched a standard tube / desiccant stopper product specially developed for the Vietnam market.

Swiss speciality chemicals company Clariant has launched a standard tube / desiccant stopper product specially developed for the Vietnam market.

The product, comprising a 25mm x 132mm tube along with a spiral stopper, has been developed for packaging effervescent tablets and protecting them from breakage and moisture-related damage for longer shelf life. It is also suitable for chewables and lozenges.

DKSH Vietnam will distribute the product in Vietnam. For an optimised supply chain, the company will directly source the product from Clariant ’s plant in Changshu, China.

According to Clariant , its durable, rigid tubes along with desiccant stoppers offer protection for breakable and moisture-sensitive pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.

Each tube has a desiccant-filled 25mm stopper that prevents the entry of moisture, while simultaneously adsorbing moisture within the tube to preserve the shelf life of the tablets.

Stoppers will incorporate tamper-evidence features to ensure the integrity of tablets. Even though standard filling comprises 100% silica gel, other desiccants such as molecular sieve will be available on request, depending on application requirements.

The packaging configuration is suited to automated filling lines.

Clariant manufactures a range of pharmaceutical tube and stopper products to high-quality standards such as cGMP and ISO 15378, at its sites in Changshu, China; Romorantin, France; and Belen, New Mexico, US.

Its packaging solutions include pharmaceutical desiccants, equilibrium sorbents, adsorbent polymers, oxygen scavengers and pharmaceutical closures and containers.

Clariant ’s four business areas include care chemicals, catalysis, natural resources, and plastics and coatings.
