Film and foil packaging manufacturer Clondalkin Wentus has introduced a new skin-tight film for the food processing industry.

The new WENTOPRO-SkinTight, which is suitable for different food products such as frozen and processed meat, poultry, fish and sea food products, features long shelf life and high barrier properties.

The film, which is manufactured at Clondalkin's site in Höxter, Germany, offers a natural look for maximum shelf appeal.

According to the company, the invisible film provides a safe and secure seal as it surrounds the product like a second skin and prevents against leakage and contamination.

Clondalkin Wentus new business development director Christian Claes said that the new film is formulated to seal on all widely available films and trays, and is combatible with various types of converting machines.

"At Wentus we invest heavily in research and development and are committed to developing innovative packaging solutions that meet the needs of our customers," Claes added.

"It has an easy peel corner for consumer convenience and because of its long shelf life properties it helps retailers reduce waste and keep products fresh and looking attractive for longer."

A supplier of hygiene film, foils and laminates, Wentus services the food, convenience goods, hygiene, agricultural and horticultural markets. The company offers mono, co-ex and multilayer barrier films along with cast polypropylene and fully biodegradable films.
