Beverage giant Coca-Cola, in cooperation with bottler Coca-Cola Hellenic, has announced plans to invest $3bn in Russia between 2012 and 2016 to expand its operations in the region.

The announcement was made at the official opening of the $120m Coca-Cola Hellenic plant in the Rostov region.

The bottling and packaging facility will have an annual output of 450 million litres of beverages per day.

Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent said that Coca Cola is part of the fabric of Russia’s economic development, and the company continues to invest in Russia to stimulate growth across the supply chain.
