Specifically, the credentials inform customers about recycling and composting within their own countries, as well as material sources that allow them to keep their packaging choices in line with their respective sustainability goals.

Customers can access these credentials through QR codes, which are linked to dynamic webpages on Colpac’s new website.

Colpac Marketing and Product head Kate Berry said: “We are delighted to have implemented a simple way for consumers to access sustainability data for our products. Our QR codes and on-pack printing simply demonstrates how they can do this.”

In addition, these credentials can be accessed through each product page on Colpac’s website.

As of today (16 October), the information is available for national recycling schemes in the UK, France, and Italy. Colpac has a presence in more than 60 countries.

Colpac ESG manager Talia Goldman said: “Customers and end users are more concerned than ever about wanting to dispose of their packaging responsibly. We hope that this will support consumers in recycling or composting our packaging, according to their [country’s] national waste guidelines.”

Last month, Colpac expanded its recyclable Stagione food packaging range with the addition of a new 1,000ml square pot variant.

It also received an updated Environmental Seal of Business Excellence from the British Printing Industries Federation.
