Cosmo Films unveils new sealing film for lidding applications

Indian packaging films manufacturer Cosmo Films has unveiled a sterilisable conduction sealing film, which is suitable for use in wad and lidding applications for polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) containers.

According to the company, the new film can endure high temperatures during the sterilisation process.

The company developed the film to offer seal integrity to products. It is easy to open and is safe for direct food contact.

Companies can use the film as a monolayer, as a sealant layer in a laminated structure with other substrates like aluminium foil, and in roll or pre-cut form.

Cosmo Films CEO Pankaj Poddar said: “The uniqueness of the film lies in its endurance to withstand high temperatures during the sterilisation process without affecting its seal integrity.

“We are confident of the success of this film and the response so far has been extremely encouraging.”

The film is developed for flavoured milk, juices, energy drinks and bakery products. It is also suitable for the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and cosmetics industry.

In September, Cosmo Films launched biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) based heat-resistant film for various packaging applications in food and non-food segments.

Established in 1981, Cosmo Films offers speciality films for packaging, lamination and labelling applications. It currently operates manufacturing plants and distribution centres in India, the US, Korea, and Japan.
