Track and trace solutions provider Covectra has launched a new serialisation system to ensure product integrity.
AuthentiTrack Prime is designed for small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) and will make it easier for manufacturers to meet compliance needs, says the company.
Headquartered in Westborough, Massachusetts, Covectra specialises in manufacturing serialisation and authentication technologies across the entire supply chain.
The Covectra system includes Cloud-hosted AuthentiTrack database, as well as vision systems/barcode scanners, printing systems, conveyors and other required equipment.
AuthentiTrack Prime for SMB manages the unique serialised 2D barcodes application from the case and pallet to primary package.
The solution provides GS1 EPCIS-certified serial number provisioning and stores all serialised data, centralised in the Cloud.
According to the company, manufacturers equipped with AuthentiTrack Prime can easily meet compliance requirements and increase uptime.
The system can be configured to serialise for semi-automatic or manual lines and low-volume packaging operations.
Covectra medical products laboratories information technology director Hari Krishnamurthy said: “Covectra came in and assessed our serialisation needs and put a system in place that optimized our efficiency at a lower cost than other competitors. Covectra’s customer service and ongoing support is exceptional.”
The system will also help combat counterfeiting and diversion in food and beverage, electronics, fashion, cosmetics, luxury goods, and other industries.
The transportable system can be easily integrated next to the production line. The standalone system can be quickly installed and is designed to be operational within hours.
The company exhibited the integrated serialisation system at Las Vegas event PackExpo last year.
