UK-based Coveris has developed a new packaging solution for snacking brand Taste’s first range of ready-to-eat chargrilled chicken fillets.

Developed in collaboration with Taste, the new packaging is designed to address the growing snacking, food-on-the-go and protein trends.

Buyers can purchase Taste’s new chargrilled chicken fillets individually and as ‘Fridge Filler’ multipacks that includes five separate portions.

The ready-to-eat range is currently available in two flavours, original and spicy, and can be purchased from Morrisons, Ocado and Nisa stores across the UK.

Coveris’ extrusion facility in Winsford, England, UK, has manufactured the new chicken fillet packs, which offer improved seal strength and pack integrity.

The film used in the packs, which was converted at Coveris’ Gainsborough site in the UK, feature high definition flexographic print for a better on-shelf presentation of the Taste product.

In addition, the pack includes tear propagation technology that enables consumers to easily open the packet and tear off individual portions from the ‘Fridge Filler’ multipack.

Each of the chicken fillets is conveniently stored in its own compartment, without compromising shelf life until individual packs are opened for consumption. 

Coveris is planning to exhibit its latest technologies and innovations at the upcoming Interpack 2017 event to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, next month.
