Crown Holdings, a global supplier of rigid packaging products, has appointed John Rost as the new president for its Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Effective 1 July 2025, Rost will replace Carlos Baila, who will step down from the role for personal reasons.

Rost has been part of Crown Holdings since 1997 and is presently its senior vice-president for Technology, Sustainability, and Regulatory Affairs.

He has occupied various roles within the organisation throughout his tenure.

During his time with the company, Rost has set up a global regulatory team and was pivotal in establishing the sustainability team.

This team was responsible for initiating Crown’s internationally acknowledged ‘Twentyby30’ programme, which centres on sustainability efforts.

In 2023, Rost was elevated to senior vice-president to manage Crown’s Technology Centres, further strengthening the company’s capabilities.

Crown Holdings chair, president, and CEO Timothy Donahue said: “I would like to thank Carlos for his contributions over the last two and a half years leading the Crown Asia business.

“Despite a challenging macroeconomic environment, Carlos designed and led the efforts to meaningfully grow segment income through right-sizing capacity and improving revenue quality. We wish Carlos well in his future endeavours.

“I also congratulate John on his well-deserved promotion. His leadership abilities, global experience and deep knowledge of the industry will serve the company well as we continue to grow in the Asia-Pacific region.”

In October 2023, Crown Holdings acquired Helvetia Packaging, a beverage can manufacturing facility in Germany.
