Crown Beverage Packaging Mexico, a business unit of Crown Holdings, has rolled out two new beverage can sizes.

The company has released a 9.1oz sleek style and an 11oz regular format to meet growing consumer and retailer demand for beverage cans in Latin America.

Crown Beverage Packaging Mexico supply chain director Sergio Manuel Bustamante Hinojosa said: "We are very pleased to continue to expand our range of packaging solutions for beverage brands.

"Both of the new sizes are particularly attractive to customers in Colombia, where the 9.1oz can is quickly gaining popularity, while the 11oz can is already the traditional format used in the country."

With retail distribution and consumption patterns changing, there are more opportunities for brands to take the advantage of aluminium cans.

"We are very pleased to continue to expand our range of packaging solutions for beverage brands."

The company claimed the new can sizes offer brands significant versatility in their packaging, while allowing them to compete with other popular beverage formats.

Besides the two new formats, Crown manufactures 8oz and 10oz sleek style and 12oz and 16oz standard cans in Mexico.

Last February, Crown acquired Empaque, following which its operations in Mexico have expanded to three beverage can plants, one glass plant, and one can ends and crowns manufacturing plant.

A fourth beverage can plant is currently under construction in Monterrey with can production slated to commence later this year.
