A new partnership called Plastic Action Alliance has been formed by nine agricultural processing and food business companies in Ireland for the implementation of sustainable plastic packaging solutions in supply chains.
The members of the partnership include ABP, Manor Farm, Irish Country Meats, Rosderra, Keelings, Monaghan Mushrooms, Country Crest, Nature’s Best, and C&D Foods.
The alliance will be chaired by Aidan Cotter, former CEO of Bord Bia, and will include senior executives from the participating companies.
Under the partnership, new sustainable packaging solutions will be introduced in place of single-use plastic packaging systems.
Avery Dennison, a global display graphics and packaging materials producer based in the US, has entered a partnership with SMAG Graphique for the introduction of RFID conversion solutions for label conversion companies.
Based in France, SMAG Graphique offers printing, converting, and finishing equipment manufacturing services.
The partnership enables the customers of Avery Dennison to leverage the insertion and encoding services of RFID inserting machines at the showroom of SMAG Graphique in Savigny sur Orge, France.
The new label converters in RFID labels conversion market will be provided with complete technical and operational training by SMAG.
Dunapack Packaging has agreed with Electronics For Imaging (EFI), a digital printing technology service provider based in the US, for the optimisation of corrugated packaging production.
EFI will implement its EFI Escada Profile closed-loop process control system at Dunapack Packaging for the enhancement of quality and efficiency in production.
The new solution will strengthen the control and reporting portfolio of Dunapack, while optimising its production capabilities.
US-based packaging services provider Temkin International has been acquired by PPC Flexible Packaging for an undisclosed sum.
Based in the US, PPC is engaged in the flexographic printing and conversion of flexible bags and pouches.
Upon completion of the transaction, Temkin will be integrated into PPC and the combined entity will be rebranded as PPC Flexible Packaging.
The produce and floral segments of Temkin will not be renamed and will operate under the Temkin brand.
