Deals this week: Limoneira, Cascades, Eastman Kodak

Limoneira Company has entered an asset purchase agreement with Oxnard Lemon Associates to acquire a packinghouse and related assets located in Oxnard, California, US.

Limoneira Company has entered an asset purchase agreement with Oxnard Lemon Associates to acquire a packinghouse and related assets located in Oxnard, California, US.

Based in the US, Limoneira Company is a diversified citrus packing, sales and marketing company, while the packinghouse is engaged in full-line lemon packing.

Cascades has acquired White Birch Paper’s Bear Island manufacturing facility located in Virginia, US, for $34.2m.

The company proposes to refurbish the manufacturing facility to produce high-quality recycled liner and corrugated paper for the North American market.

Based in Canada, Cascades is engaged in the recovery and manufacture of green packaging and tissue products, while White Birch Paper is a paper manufacturing company.

Eastman Kodak is planning to divest its flexible-packaging division for more than $400m.

The division manufactures labelling and packaging equipment, as well as printing plates used to label packaging for consumer goods.

Based in the US, Kodak is a technology company focused on imaging.

Müller Group has selected RPC Superfos for supplying a custom-made tub for its new spreadable butter.

RPC Superfos has provided two tub variants that are specifically designed for Müller’s premium Weihenstephan brand.

One variant features an injection-moulded tub and lid, while the other comprises an injection-moulded tub combined with a thermoformed lid from RPC Bebo.

Based in Germany, Müller Group is a dairy business, while RPC Superfos is a Denmark-based company engaged in designing, developing and manufacturing innovative plastic packaging solutions.

TemperPack has raised $4.5m from Closed Loop Partners to expand ClimaCell insulation product manufacturing at its Las Vegas facility in Nevada, US.

The company is currently manufacturing ClimaCell at its facility in Richmond.

ClimaCell is a curbside recyclable insulation product designed for perishable shipments in the food and pharmaceuticals industries. It helps minimise greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over expanded polystyrene (EPS), which is used in insulated shipping.

Expansion of ClimaCell manufacturing is expected to reduce contamination at material recovery facilities.

Based in the US, TemperPack is engaged in the provision of sustainable packaging products.
