US-based Dow Chemical Company’s Packaging and Specialty Plastics (P&SP) business has launched a new packaging centre in Ringwood, Illinois, serving the laminating adhesive market.

As one of the company’s innovative Pack Studios centres, the newly launched facility will develop products for use in various plastics applications across a global network of laboratories, technical experts and testing equipment.

The new centre is expected to offer a combined innovation process that will allow customers to quickly and efficiently commercialise new products.

Dow has also partnered with coating, laminating and metallising machinery Nordmeccanica as part of its expansion.

Equipped with Nordmeccanica's Super Combi 3000 laminator line, Pack Studios Ringwood is designed to accelerate developments in the laminating adhesives industry through reduced costs and cycle times for fabrication, prototyping and testing.

It is the seventh Pack Studios facility to be unveiled by the company, following the opening of a centre in Singapore last month. 

Dow also has Pack Studios facilities in Italy, the US, Switzerland, Brazil and China.
