DS Smith Plastics, Extruded Products France has launched a new product line of extruded polypropylene packaging for pharmaceutical applications.

Developed in partnership with other stakeholders in the industry, the new AkyPure comprises hygienic, fibre-free and moist-resistant packaging solutions.

According to the company, the solutions are manufactured in compliance with International Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

DS Smith market segment Pharma Manager Pascal Schelcher said: “The close and privileged relationship we have world-class laboratories and primary packaging suppliers has allowed us to develop a fibre-free and durable polypropylene packaging solution that meet and exceed the demands and expectations of this industry.”

The AkyPure line of extruded polypropylene packaging comprises three distinct product categories, namely AkyPure Tray, AkyPure Box and AkyPure bulk container.

DS Smith Plastics will showcase its polypropylene plastic packaging systems for a variety of markets at multiple exhibits during this month and next month.

The latest innovations developed by the company in reusable plastics packaging for specific industries including pharmaceutical, automotive, general packaging and retail, will be presented at the events.

The exhibits are set to be held in Portugal, Germany, Spain, and the US.

DS Smith’s plastics product portfolio consists of flexible packaging and dispensing solutions, rigid packaging solutions, foam products, and injection moulded products.

The Plastics division operates through facilities in Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia.
