Italy-based photographic printing equipment manufacturer Durst has entered a strategic partnership with Omet.
As part of the partnership OMET will sell Durst’s Tau label printing product line in North America.
The new partnership will focus on offering extended engineering capabilities, added services and combined digital and flexo printing expertise to label printers from a single source.
Both companies will combine their efforts to extend their reach across North America through OMET’s office in Chicago, Illinois.
Durst Group Labels & Package Printing global segment manager Helmuth Munter said: “We are delighted to expand our collaboration with OMET.
“Bringing together our know-how and market expertise provides increased value for our customers and accelerates the digitisation of the label & packaging market.”
In addition, Durst has named North American label segment business development manager Richard Thomas as the new director of digital business initiative for labels and package printing.
OMET Sales and Marketing director Marco Calcagni said: “This is a complete Made-in-Italy printing solution that meets the market trends of personalisation, just-in-time deliveries, and final product variation, while also maintaining the capabilities of a conventional press.
“Durst is the right partner for us because they have deep knowledge and the best digital inkjet technology in the international market.”
Durst and OMET will showcase the new Tau 330 RSC as a stand-alone label press system along with the new OMET XJet digital-flexo hybrid press at Label Expo Americas 2018.
