Belgium’s Esko has upgraded its online packaging management portal, WebCenter 16, to enhance its efficiency and productivity.

Designed to create, manage and approve artwork and other assets, WebCenter 16 streamlines and simplifies operations across the packaging production process.

As part of the upgrade, a new content management module has been included, enabling users to expand their artwork services.

“WebCenter 16 connects all of the steps in the print production process, allowing trade shops and converters to be more effective and efficient."

The upgrade has increased the system's speed by up to 50% and allowed content to be automatically linked to artworks.

Esko WebCenter product manager Miguel Graça said: “WebCenter 16 connects all of the steps in the print production process, allowing trade shops and converters to be more effective and efficient. WebCenter 16 has been a huge success.

“The new enhancements create further savings, reduce errors and support a more successful production process, which has translated into an incredible adoption rate.

“One of our customers said their previous packaging change process took anywhere from 60-90 days. Now, it's half that time and in some cases, they can implement a change to a package in as little as 21 days."

Furthermore, the elimination of manual copy-and-pasting has reduced the number of errors that could be made by WebCenter 16 users.

The upgraded WebCenter 16 is compatible with any HMTL5-supported platform, such as desktop computers, tablets and smartphones.

The online portal is currently available under software as a service (SaaS) terms, and complies with US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMA) regulations.
