Plant-based packaging solutions provider Evergreen Packaging has introduced a brand called PlantCarton to describe all its sustainable carton products.
The launch of the new brand is aligned with the company’s strategy to promote the use of renewable materials in packaging.
PlantCarton will aim to reach the consumers who are very specific about product and packaging authenticity.
All PlantCarton packages (52oz-64oz) are said to use up to 80% less plastic by weight compared to other similar plastic packages.
Evergreen Packaging North America Sales vice-president DeWitt Clark said: “We find it interesting that so many companies and organisations are doing extensive research and product development on environmentally friendly packaging, yet overlook an immediate solution that can reduce plastic use by up to 80%.
“This is because PlantCarton packages represent the original plant-based package derived from a renewable resource.”
He added that the source material is procured from the regions where responsible forestry practices are followed to ensure adequate replenishment.
Evergreen Packaging has three independent forestry certifications to ensure that all natural resources utilised in the manufacturing process are protected.
Headquartered in the US, Evergreen Packaging focuses on supplying paper and paperboard products globally. It is one of the largest suppliers of liquid packaging board.
With a team of more than 3,800 employees, the company caters to its clients through multiple wholly owned and joint-venture manufacturing facilities located worldwide.
