Production and logistical expenses have remained elevated, with energy tariffs and ocean freight rates staying high.

Flint Group said raw material capacity shortages across Asia, particularly China, brought about by Chinese safety initiatives, have driven significant price spikes for pigments.

The company added that high crude oil prices concurrently continued to inflate the procurement expenditure for petrochemical precursors, notably additives, resins, solvents, and linked inputs.

The price rise will take effect on 14 December 2026.

Flint Group North America sales and service vice-president Nicki Kerrigan said: “We recognise the impact that price adjustments have on our customers and have carefully considered this decision.

“We also understand the importance of clear communication on pricing. Our teams will provide details and key data points to support discussions with customers about the increase.”

Flint Group was established in late 2005 through the combination of Flint Ink Corporation and XSYS Print Solutions.

The preceding entities carry extensive industry roots: XSYS was established in 2004 when print suppliers ANI and BASF Printing Systems merged, while Flint Ink traces its origins back to a 1920 founding in the US, later becoming a supplier of printing inks and dyes.

Flint Group serves the global narrow web, paper and board, publishing, and flexible packaging industries across both conventional and digital printing platforms.
