Germany-based Bosch Packaging Technology is set to exhibit its new testing equipment for jelly production at Pack Expo International 2016, to be held in the US this November.
The equipment can produce medicated and functional gummy products, including cough lozenges, omega-3 and mineral-enriched products.

A GML03 laboratory depositor and drying room, which will allow companies to test new solutions and increase production of tested recipes, will be displayed at the expo.
With the initiative, Bosch intends to offer its complete system solution, ranging from raw material weighing and dosing, through to end-of-line packaging in North America.
Bosch Packaging Technology product manager Frank Jansen said: “We see growing demand for functional and medicated jelly in the US Jellies are seen by both producers and consumers as an ideal carrier for vitamins, supplements and active pharmaceutical ingredients.

The lab depositor and drying room at the event will enable experimental or seasonal testing of jelly.
Developed to improve existing production process, the lab depositor features an exchangeable pump system, as well as servo-controlled pistons for processing various formulas to produce jellies, hard candies, toffees, fondant and other confectioneries.
Bosch’s new drying room is designed to have complete control of drying parameters, which are graphically recorded and visualised on a built-in PC for optimal quality assurance.
