Germany-based integrated packaging and bottling line systems producer Krones has purchased industrial control systems integrator Process and Data Automation (PDA) for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Erie, Pennsylvania, US, PDA currently serves a variety of sectors, including liquid food.

With the completion of the acquisition, which is expected to expand Krones’ global presence, the PDA management team will continue to operate from its existing headquarters in Erie.
Krones president and CEO Holger Beckmann said: “With regard to digitisation, it is our goal to provide customers with added value through better utilisation of the data that our machines, software, employees, users of the machines generate.
“The acquisition of PDA allows Krones to take another step to offer relevant US-based expertise to our customers.”
