Germany’s Mauser acquires Berenfield Containers in US

Germany-based industrial packaging company Mauser group has entered an agreement to acquire US-based Berenfield Containers.

Germany-based industrial packaging company Mauser group has entered an agreement to acquire US-based Berenfield Containers.

Under the terms of the agreement, the company will acquire six Berenfield manufacturing facilities that produce steel and fibre drums in five US cities.

Mauser USA president and CEO Glenn Frommer said: "We are excited to add Berenfield's highly experienced team and locations to expand Mauser's manufacturing capabilities in the US.

"Our customers expect a high quality global standard for packaging, available in locations convenient to their operations, and Berenfield Containers has offered this high level of service and support for more than a century.

"We are delighted to add innovative manufacturing capabilities and a broader range of products - including a wide range of drum sizes - to the Mauser portfolio."

Under the deal, the operations of 20 Mauser drum and IBC plants will be integrated with Berenfield Containers.

The acquisition marks yet another move to expand Mauser's presence, as well as its steel and fibre drum product offering for its North American customers.
