Germany-based Herma has opened its new subsidiary in the US to expand the sales and services of the company’s labelling machine business.
The new subsidiary, Herma US, will be headed by the company’s UK-based subsidiary sales director Peter Goff.
Herma currently provides a range of labelling solutions based on the Herma 400 label applicator.
So far, the company has produced more than 15,000 units of the applicator, which features a servo drive that can achieve speeds of more than 500ft per minute.
Herma worldwide machine division divisional director Martin Kühl said: “This is a tremendous opportunity for Herma to expand its global footprint.
“The company had already enjoyed solid sales in North America without permanent staff. This new subsidiary dedicates many of our most talented personnel to one of the world’s most important markets.

The company’s Herma 132M automatic wrap-around labelling system provides speeds of up to 300 products per minute and is used in European pharmaceutical production sectors.
It also manufactures self-adhesive materials and finished adhesive products for the healthcare, pharmaceuticals, automotive, electrical, chemicals, food, cosmetics and logistics industries.
Last month, Herma UK commissioned a new fully automatic packaging machine for self-adhesive material at its headquarters in Newbury with an investment of around £500,000.
