It is now focusing on setting new science-based climate targets to further minimise its absolute greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2022, the company diverted 1.1 million tonnes of waste from landfill, out of which 85% was recovered and recycled paper waste.

Graphic said that almost one-third of its fibre-based consumer packaging products were manufactured using 100% recycled fibre material.

The majority of the packaging manufactured by Graphic is recyclable, thereby contributing to a circular economy.

The company is also on track to achieve its mission of transitioning 100% of its global facilities in compliance with a fibre certification standard, representing the business’ responsible forest management and sourcing practices.

For the reported period, the company said that ethnic diversity among its US employee base was more than double the industry benchmark, making Graphic a more inclusive workplace.

Graphic CEO and president Michael P Doss said: “We work relentlessly to develop resource-efficient and easily recyclable packaging solutions that use natural resources responsibly.

“We enable our customers – the world’s leading household brands – to shift toward more recyclable packaging. In addition to helping them meet their sustainability goals, we help shape how they think about packaging their products for the future.”

The ESG report is in compliance with the Global Reporting Initiative and Sustainable Accounting Standards Board’s standards.

The information provided by the company is also in accordance with the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures framework and the UN Global Compact Communication on Progress.
