The development is in line with China’s revised food safety law that requires manufacturers to establish full supply chain traceability systems.

Consumers can use smartphones to trace item-level information about the milk contained in the carton by scanning the printed QR codes.

The new traceable cartons will be used to package China Mengniu Dairy’s Selected Meadow brand products.

Greatview has partnered with Tencent’s WeChat and Chinese retailer RT-Mart for Mengniu to apply the technology in promoting its Selected Meadow Traceable+ milk brand.
