HB said it was able to deliver a strong performance in 2022, signifying that the company is on track to achieve its 2025 sustainability goals.

Following this report, HB claimed that it is ahead of its stipulated schedule for delivering its water withdrawal, as well as waste metric targets, which also marks that the company is close to achieving its greenhouse gas (GHG) targets.

Compared with the base year of 2014, the company aims to minimise its energy and GHG emissions intensity by 20% and waste and water intensity by 10% by 2025.

HB president and CEO Celeste Mastin said: “In 2022, our company was recognised by several leading organisations for our commitment to operating responsibly across our extensive global network of manufacturing locations.

“Our reach goes far beyond our own operations. In fact, over 50% of our new product pipeline is focused on solutions that allow customers to drive positive change by enabling sustainability in their products.”

The adhesives company published its scope 3 GHG emissions for the first time and its accelerated life cycle assessments in terms of its product footprint and climate change.

The company also rolled out a new digital platform in 2022 for more than 100 sites across the globe for collecting, analysing, and reporting sustainability data in real time.

Furthermore, HB introduced a series of new technologies that help in facilitating sustainable customer innovations for a wide variety of end markets.

The company said it will continue to build on its commitments to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals while also aligning with its disclosures to Global Reporting Initiative standards and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.
