Sabert, a global manufacturer of sustainable food packaging solutions, has rolled out a new range of food containers designed to reduce food waste and improve storage efficiency.

The new polypropylene (PP) ‘Rectangle Hinged Leftover Container’ is available in black and clear options, making it suitable for various dining purposes.

It has been designed to minimise food waste by enabling consumers to conveniently take home, refrigerate, as well as reheat their leftover food in the container.

Sabert highlighted that its container is crafted with a ribbed construction and optimised PP material to ensure durability while minimising material usage.

The new range has a stackable design that enhances transport and storage efficiency, and the container can be transferred directly from the refrigerator to the microwave, eliminating the need to transfer food to another plate.

Additional features of the container include dual pull tabs for easy access, heat lamp safety, and the availability of interior locks to prevent the food from spilling and leaking.

Sabert Marketing and New Product Development vice-president Stephny Halstead said: “We wanted to create a convenient solution that makes it simple to enjoy leftovers.

“With its secure locking lid, ribbed design for strength, and leak-resistant seal, this container ensures leftovers make it home safely without any spills or leaks.

“And since it’s made of polypropylene, consumers can store and reheat food right in the container without having to transfer it to another dish. We also encourage consumers to wash and reuse the container at home to reduce environmental impact.”

Earlier this March, Sabert expanded its range of sustainable offerings with the launch of the Earthtel r-PRO line, a fully recyclable collection of bowls and containers, to offer foodservice operators a sustainable packaging choice.
