Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel has expanded its recyclable paper packaging RE range with the launch of heat seal coating.

Named as Loctite Liofol HS 2809-22 RE, the product has also been granted certification for its recyclability with paper.

Loctite Liofol HS 2809-22 RE is designed to be able to seal to both paper and itself, suitable for any ink type and can be easily processed at high machine speeds.

Henkel product development coatings Brian Stephenson said: “The design of packaging highly influences its recyclability. Our goal is to bring a new perspective into the process: we want to rethink how packaging is made from the very beginning.

“Loctite Liofol HS 2809-22 RE opens up new and sustainable design possibilities by enabling to replace PE with paper in a wide range of primary and secondary packaging applications for both food and non-food.”

Loctite Liofol HS 2809-22 RE can be used in various applications such as hygiene products, tea bags, industrial hardware pouches and chocolate overwrap.
